Like many of you, I’m always keeping my eye out for a “steal”!!
Especially after the holidays!!!
I was at Hobby Lobby after Christmas and found this “love” sign in the discount isle!
The word and sentiment were perfect for Valentine’s Day but the colors and design was not my style.
I love the flower embellishment and I knew right away I could do something with it!
Chalk Paint, of course!! Annie Sloan Country Grey (one of my favorites!). It looks more cream than grey to me!
But, it was too plain for me. It needed dimension. So, I got out my AS dark wax!
I just traced around the letters and accented the flowers.
That was all she needed!
Now, she sits proudly on my Valentine Mantel!!
Always remember to keep your eyes open when you’re looking thru discount isles even if something is not your color or style. Listen to that little voice that says “oh I wish that was a different color”, or, “if only it had this or didn’t have that”. Don’t cast it aside…..think outside the box!
