You may remember, I decorated my living room mantel with a non-traditional color scheme!
You may also remember, I decided to update my front porch with some wooden firecrackers!
They were so easy to make, I decided to make a set for my living room in a non-traditional way!
Again, these are EASY PEASY!!
I took three 4×4’s cut at random heights and brushed them with a white wash of paint.
While they were drying, I took some patriotic sheet music I printed off of a free website and rubbed them with a light coat of Annie Sloan dark wax….
….next, I gently tore the edges of the paper to give them more of an antique look..
I applied Mod Podge to the back of the paper and onto the 4×4 and positioned the sheet music where I wanted them. I then applied another coat of Mod Podge over the sheet music once it was adhered to 4×4 for a good seal. I used 2 sheets of music per 4×4, overlapping the edges.
I drilled holes in the tops of the 4×4’s………
…..cut some copper wire approximately 3 inches long and curled the wire around a pencil until I had the shape I wanted and inserted the copper wire into the hole
To finish them off, I tied a ribbon of burlap around the bottom!!!
PERFECT!
I’m thrilled with them! In fact, I think they’ll stay in my living room throughout summer! Who doesn’t love seeing music about our wonderful country, right??!!
Plus, they tie in nicely with my Patriotic Mantel!
Happy 4th of July……Twelve Oaks Manor style!
Until next time……….

I luv your Non traditional patriotic decor. I have been going over and over how to incorporate some 4th inot my decor without the traditional red, white and blue scheme whit totally does not go with anything I have. This is wonderful!!! Thanks for the inspiration Angela.
Hugs, Gee
