Fall Front Porch “Wreaths”!

Fall Front Porch “Wreaths”!

The calendar says it’s fall………….

But, it’s 100 degrees outside and it’s a little difficult to feel the “frost on the pumpkin”,

but I’ll give it a try!

:)

I decided to go with something different this year for my front door “wreaths”….

I found this inspiration from Shirley at Housepitality Designs! It was love at first sight!!

:)

They’re really not wreaths at all…..

Rather, they are quilter’s hoops!

I purchased two oval quilter’s hoops, some white burlap, a wooden letter, a sharpie and flowers for adornment!

I cut my burlap into rectangles and traced around my wooden letter with a sharpie.

Then filled in the letter with a sharpie (I LOVE to color inside the lines!)

:)

Once my letter was filled in, I positioned it on my quilter’s hoop, trimmed the burlap and hot glued it down on the back!

Next came the fun part……add flowers and pumpkins!

I decided to keep my colors rather muted for my early fall decorating!  I always like to change things around for Thanksgiving at which time I’ll add some more burnt reds, rusts and oranges.

For now, I love the whites, creams and browns!!

It goes really well on my newly painted front door!

(Yes, I took the plunge and painted my double doors BLACK!)

LOVE them!!!

Next, I will tackle the heat and “fallify” the front porch!!!

I think it’s only supposed to reach 94 degrees today!!!

:)

Until next time……..

  1. ADORABLE!!! My porch always looks so lifeless by the end of summer and that’s why I love fall so much…the weather and fun decorating!

  2. Having the same problem Angela… trying to get motivated in the North Central Florida heat is not easy. I have sprinkled a few arm loads of dried hydrangea around the home in baskets and urns and called it late summer :-)
Luv the wreaths you have placed on the newly painted doors. Just luvly!!!
