When the patio addition to the pond was finished, we had some pallets leftover!
Hubby was going to trash them and I said “oh no we’re not“….
“I want to build a pallet swing with them”!!
He looked at me like I’d lost my mind (although he denies that now!)!!
Once he was on board, he didn’t have instructions but, that didn’t stop him!!
He cut one of the pallets down and added supports to the sides and back.
I sanded it down so there were no rough spots or splinters….
….painted it black….
And hung it in the tree (which was really the most difficult part because our trees are sooooo tall)!
It’s perfect to sit and look at the pond and listen to the fountain and waterfall!
Do you see that small footstool under the swing?
It’s too small (and leather) so it can’t stay outside.
I’ve asked hubby to build me a small footstool from our leftover pallet wood so shorter people, or children can step on it and help them up, or, rest their feet on it! More on that when it’s done!
Cost of this one of a kind swing…..approx $50 for paint and hardware!
The joy and pleasure of building something together…..priceless!!
If your interested in building a pallet swing of your own and have any questions or would like more details, please let me know! I’ll have the hubby email you the play-by-play!
Until next time……

What a fantastic use of pallets! Looks simply amazing.
What an awesome swing!
This is such a great idea! It looks like the perfect spot to relax. Found your swing at Elizabeth & Co’s party.
really nice place you got there! I have done something similar at home, but decided to place a carpet on my patio. Even though the carpet cleaning is a real pain in the back, it was a really nice addition, and it turned out great.
This is a lovely project and your backyard is so beautiful! I’m hopping over from blogtalk!
I am pallet happy at the moment. We are making an outside couch and chair and saw this swing and are on it. tell me about the cushions, did you make or buy. Also can I get the details of making the swing. Thanks, so excited.
I would love directions on what I need and how to build the pallet swing?
would love to have the instructions for this swing.
