New Office/Guest Room!!

New Office/Guest Room!!

It all began with this blog.

I needed wanted an office of my own!

Hubby was willing to share his, but, truth be known….

…..I just want my own space!! :)

Enter the 2nd guest room!

I can’t give up the “guest room”!  We have a big family and since we live so far from them,  we tend to host large crowds!

I knew it could be both…..an office and a guest room!

Main ingredient for an office?     a desk!!

So the hunt was on!

I scoured Craigslist and thrift stores for months looking for the perfect one (at the perfect price)!

I live for the hunt!!

Finally, I found her! $40 bucks later and she was mine!

Just what I wanted!  Lots of tabletop space and solid wood. There’s really nothing wrong with her and I could have left her just as I found her.

But that’s no fun!

After practicing with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint, I knew I wanted to paint her.

Yep, the bug bit me……….

Old Ochre for the legs along with a little distressing…….

 …….French Linen for the top!IMG_2842

Followed by clear and dark wax………..

………I’m very happy with how it turned out!! :)

  8. Angela, you did a beautiful job with this desk! Great find, by the way! It is such a nice piece! I know what you mean about having your own space. Mine is in our library, but of course, I share with my husband. I have a second computer that is not in use and I am thinking of just putting it in my craft room. Just wanted to let you know also that your comments are back to being non-reply. I am sorry and I hate to tell you because I know this is a pain. It seems to be happening to a lot of people with the Google+. Let me know if I can help.
