Aw….I love springtime in South Texas! Best time of the year, in my opinion. The nights are still cooling down and our days average around 70 degrees! I just wish it lasted all year! In about a month or two I will be complaining about the hot, humid temperatures and staying outside after noon will result in lots of sweating and bug spray!
But, I digress……….
I’ve been “tweaking” my front porch for springtime! My furniture needed a face-lift so I decided to paint everything black! I just love the black and white combinations you see all over blog land and on Pinterest.
Please excuse all the leaves! Our oak trees actually drop their old leaves in the spring!! So, for 3-4 weeks, leaves actually “rain” down and you just can’t keep them all picked up! A couple more weeks and we should have a handle on it!
But again, I digress!………….
I knew I wanted a rug so I borrowed this one from my laundry room!
I think a slightly larger one would look better so I’m on the hunt! But for now, this works great and I absolutely love this rug!
Once I put all the furniture back on the porch, I added in my black and white!
I found this lamp at Home Goods for $10!! Since the porch is covered, I think it will survive our warm days and occasional thunderstorms! Heck, for 10 bucks…..if it only lasts one season, I will have gotten my money’s worth, right??!!
I love having the lamp on at night! It gives off such a warm glow.
At dusk…..
At dark……
The porch swing got a face-lift as well with new pillows and black burlap bows. I also recovered my German basket with some gorgeous bright green burlap!
Just a couple more added “touches” to complete the look……
I added my orbs! You can find the post here for how I made these!
I finished it off with two new wreaths for the front doors! They’re very simple but the bright green really “POPS” against the dark door (which I am trying to convince dear hubby needs to be painted black but so far, he’s not budging) and you can really see them from the road!!
So, there is spring on the porch at Twelve Oaks Manor! I hope you enjoyed this as much as I did creating it!
Until next time…….

What a lovely porch! I do like the idea of everything being painted black- it offers a cohesive look. I love the idea of the lamp with the chairs- but outdoors- cute! I’m still dealing with snow up here, but I will say our summers are extraordinary!
Thank you, Liz! I know you’re probably tired of the snow but I’d love to have some!!! Our summers are Hot, Hot, Hot!!!

Thanks, Kelly! You’re welcome anytime!!! Thanks for stopping by!
Your porch looks awesome! I have similar rockers on my porch so I’m always looking for new ides for decorating them. I’m dealing with oak leaves too, but they are the pin oaks that drop the leaves in the spring. Everyone else I know is fixing up their flower beds and I’m still raking leaves!
Thanks, Pam! Our leaves fall in the spring too! CRAZY!! Thanks for stopping by!
What a gorgeous porch you have here! I love the swing.

Hi Angela, your front porch is stunning! I love the b&w with the pop of green. The new lamp was such a great find and it looks wonderful. I love the rug. I have seen it on a couple of blogs that mentioned that it was from Decor Steals. I keep hoping that it will show up again. Would love it for my craft room. Thanks so much for sharing with Share Your Cup. I will be featuring you this week.

Why thank you, Debbie!
love everything, it is so cozy. May I ask how or what is on the swing chains? Love that look, I have used greenery on mine for years.
Thanks, Bridgett! I’ve just put chord covers (I found mine at Hobby Lobby) on the chains. Very simple and could be made if you’re a sewer! Unfortunately, I am not! Thank you for stopping by!
I saw these pictures on FB and just loved every single detail. I chuckle to myself when I see some of our similar items. I have the chairs, the wagon and the german chest. And my black front door needs repainting. I was going to ask you about a black paint. That’s on the to-do list.
Girl, I’m telling you! You need to start a blog! We can be bloggin buddies!!! Thank you for your support!
Thank you, Shannon!! I’m truly overwhelmed with excitement! Love you and your blog AND your POP party!!!
