Summer “wreaths”!

Summer “wreaths”!

I can’t believe it’s already June!

Only 6 months until Christmas!!

I know, I know!!!

Been working on the summer front porch and wanted to show you some progress!

Although I love wreaths, I wanted something “different” for the front doors.

I found these metal “hangers” at the thrift store and thought they just might work!

I took some florist foam, cut it in half and hot glued it to the inside of the “container”.

In full honesty, this is my first arrangement…….

Although it was “OK”…….I kept feeling like it was something you would see at a funeral!!!

So, I took a trip to Michael’s and found some flowers with more of a “modern touch” that were 50% off……

Much better!!!!

I simply threaded a white burlap ribbon through the back and tied a bow at the top of the wreath hanger!

I’m really starting to embrace this red, white and blue theme for summer!  All I need to do for Independence Day is add a couple of flags!

There’s more to come……..been painting, making pillows and gathering more “fun things”!!!

Remember my inspiration………..

Here’s a sneak peek at my progress……..

But for now, you get to look at my doors!!!

Until next time……….

  1. Angela, I haven’t heard from you in a while and was just stopping by to check on you when I realized my blog roll must not be updating and I have missed all your recent post. I am not even getting the emails. I don’t know what is going on, but I am going to restart everything and subscribe again to receive your posts. Love, love the idea for your doors. They look gorgeous! Take care, Maria

  2. shirley@housepitalitydesigns :

Very, very pretty….I am always looking for inspiration for “double door decor”….just love it…and the sneak peak is wonderful…love the colors!!!

  3. So beautiful!! Love the containers, and the new flowers are much better! Great job, again!! :)

  4. doreen@househoneys :

So pretty and refreshing Angela! I agree about the flowers. Sounds like you have a great time with your porch, as you should!

I am in Manhattan at Kleinfelds now waiting for my daughter for a fitting. She flew in yesterday. The countdown begins!

  5. Too cute Angela! Love your door wreaths, but the porch swing is where I am at!

  6. So nice! Love your wreaths and the fabrics are so pretty!

  7. Robbie Jinks :

I love it all! I especially love the red boots! It really perks it up. Robbie

  8. Love the “wreaths” but I am just amazed by the rest of the porch too. Pinning. :)

  9. I was at an estate sale today and I found the same metal hangers you used for $1 each! I was so excited I snagged them up right away. I will post a picture of the final product soon. Thank you for the wonderful idea!!!

  10. I truly just ‘love’ your baskets for your front doors. I so want the very exact same. I really do. I have been thinking about how sick I am of have a wreath on my front door that just does not work for me. I have the oval glass insert in my front door also and it never looks right to me. I think those baskets and the arrangement is so perfect. I want one too!
