It seems like just yesterday it was September 1st and I was decorating for fall!!
Halloween really ‘creeped’ up on me this year so I decided to just add a couple of quick and easy touches!!
If you saw my Fall Home Tour, then you know I love to decorate with pumpkins of all types, colors, sizes and textures!
What you might not know is that some of my pumpkins can be used for Halloween decorations just by turning them around!
Come November 1st, I just turn them back around to solid pumpkins!!
Last year, I purchased some “crystal” spider brooches from Ebay and I love to scatter them throughout the house!
They’re elegant and creepy all at the same time!
My mantel received a few added touches that can be easily removed come the first of November…..
So, there you have it!!!
My tip for getting the most out of Fall-to-Halloween-then-back-to-Fall decorating?
Look for pumpkins that can be turned around to make jack-o-lanterns and then turned back around for Thanksgiving!
Also, look for little touches that can add just enough “creepiness”, like my spider brooches for little money. I bought about 12 of them for $1 a piece on Ebay and they really pack an elegantly creepy touch!
Last, a lot of my Halloween touches for the mantel were purchased last year at “after Halloween” sales for literally 75-90% off!!! After you purchase, just put them away til next year and you’ll be excited when you open that box and remember all the cool stuff you have!
Until next time………
Love the double use of those pumpkins! Totally jealous of those crystal spiders!! Want one!!!
Um, LOVING the “turn around the pumpkin” trick! I’m going to have to try that one! And those little silver spiders are too cute! Thanks so much for sharing, Angela!
I love how you turn the “Jack O Lantern” around come Nov 1st…love all of your Fall and Halloween decor…looks like you can easily transition from one holiday to another…You certainly have some great “Jack O Lanterns”….
